Job Title Merchandiser

SUMMARY OF POSITION:  The Sales Merchandiser position’s primary duty and responsibility is to stock and merchandise all products within assigned key account stores. This includes stocking all points of purchase, complying with account plan-o-grams, rotating shelved product, setting up displays, stocking & rotating coolers, storage room organization, and movement of product from storage to the sales floor. Sales responsibilities and customer contact are a supplementary role for this position. 

Note:  Company reserves the right whether to furnish transportation to assigned accounts.  If employee is required to furnish his own car/personal transportation to assigned multi-store locations, Company will reimburse employee at current IRS mileage reimbursement rate.

 

EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE): High school diploma or GED required.  

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Class C driver’s license required, (CDL class A driver's license desired) in good standing and an excellent driving history for the last 7 years.   Driving record within MVR policy guidelines: No license revocation, suspension, DUI/DWI, careless or reckless driving.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 1-2 years working for a retail business or grocery store (understanding store operations, knowing the backroom and inventory, or stocking aisles and shelves)
  • 1-2 years servicing retail customers (handling customer complaints, responding to customer requests, or meeting customer needs) 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES ("SKA") REQUIRED: 

  • Demonstrated ability to use an iOS handheld device
  • Moving products within a store (for example, safely stacking and moving products on equipment such as a U-boat, hand truck/dolly and/or breakdown)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • This position requires lifting, loading, bending, squatting, pushing and pulling cases weighing from 20 – 55 pounds, and moving pallets with a pallet jack.  Must be able to push/pull up to 50-250 pounds.
  • Merchandising products to employer/customer set standards
  • Managing & rotating backroom/stock room inventory (organizing pallets, stacking and storing inventory or products)
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: The environmental conditions under which the employee must perform the functions/tasks of this position may include customer accounts locations with extremes of heat or cold, outdoors or indoors, wet or dry, noise levels, or some safety hazards.
